South Australia State Sponsorship Fees:

 

SA have announced that some time after 15 March 2015 South Australia will be charging a processing fee for nomination applications for the following visas:

State nominated skilled – 190 permanent: $200

State nominated skilled – 489 regional provisional: $200

Business 188 provisional: $500

Business permanent 888/892/893: $750

Business 132 permanent: $750

Business retiree 405: $500

Another rip off for the state coffers! And I predict that's just the beginning, they're testing the waters and soon there' ll be a spike in fees over time.As if the costs for a visa with DIBP won't be expensive enough...

I'm surprised they weren't charging a fee already. They have to have staff to deal with the nominations and someone has to pay for them so why not the people appllying for visas? Unless you would rather they further raised some of the state taxes (ESL hike anyone?) to pay for them.

Most other states charge but this is quite a lot from nothing! I too was surprised that it was free nothing else in the migration process is.

They seem cheap in comparison to all the costing involved in the 189 PR visa!!! Just hope the prices don't go up by the time we lodge our application in May/June time....

When we were looking most of the other states already charged. Couldn't believe SA didn't and they were all so helpful when you phoned for advise.
