It's official my assistance dog Avon is coming with me when we come for good in January. So very happy it's been approved. Now for all the paperwork.

I guess he'll have to go into quarantine when he arrives. How will you get on without him. and if I may ask, why do you need him?

Hi DougM,

No he doesnt go into quarantine. He spends his quarantine period at home with me. The ministry vets come to us to check him so he can keep working for me.

Avon is a service dog that means he has been trained to help me so I can complete everyday tasks without requiring the assistance of someone else.

Before I had him I was very poorly with a spinal injury. But he has given me my life back were by I am now able to be totally independent and able to run my own business. I am hoping to either carry on my business in Adelaide or go back to work as a cardiac technician when we move. All thanks to my wonderful four legged partner.
