What's all this about Brisbane?

As most will probably know by now, the ASPC processing times are now stuck on the 12th November.

I sent my usual weekly e-mail this morning and it included the following notice:

NEWSFLASH

The General Skilled Migration (GSM) Brisbane processing centre commenced

operations on 1 July 2008. GSM Brisbane are processing electronically

lodged applications for Classes VB and VC lodged on or after 1 July 2008.

Any paper documents received in Adelaide for these applications will be

couriered to Brisbane for processing. Applicants are encouraged to provide

their documents electronically either by attaching them to the application

or by email.

Supporting documentation and enquiries regarding these applications should

be directed to the relevant Brisbane contact point.

So am I correct in assuming that the ASPC up until 1st July also dealt with applications for Brisbane? Maybe thats why things take so long!

Can we now safely assume that as Brisbane now has it's own processing centre, that things for us waiting on Adelaide will speed up?

Or is that wishful thinking?
