Hi can anyone tell me if they had to get TRA for the RSMS visa?

I emailed immigration & heard back - they said as there is no regulating body for massage therapists that it is up to the employer to decide if they are happy with my qualifications?

confused:confused: well my employer is happy enough - I have more than 10 years experience, mostly training on the job & certificate's for specialised treatments (hot stone, etc!)

I have a job offer & am trying to prepare my own application so

any advice welcome!

oh also can I apply for our police checks now? or do we have to wait till they are requested?

thanx

Hi steph,

I haven`t had to do any TRA`s as there are no recognised certificates for my line of work:D

As for the police checks, as soon as the DIMA approve the application by the employer, you can then apply for them, I`m no authority on this, but thats what I`ve done!

thanks for letting me know! how long did your police checks take to come back? would there be anything to say I shouldn't apply for them now? just thought it may save time!

MY OH is going in on an RSMS visa. He asked about TRA but his employer said there was no need as he is going in on age/experience. We have heard from Department of Trade and Industry to ay that our employers nomination has been approved and we are now awaiting our visa label number to come (should be here end of this week or beginning of next (we hope). Have sent off for our police checks, once they have been sent for they have to respond within 40 days - hope that helps.

We are 'going it alone' for our application as out employer is telling us exactly what forms we need to complete and send off. Also money saved on agents will come in very handy! We are waiting for immigration to tell us when to go for medicals as they only lat for 12 months.

Any more information that anyone can pass on to us would be gratefully received.
