panic!!!!!

after months of ignoring things cos its ages off, out of the blue ive now got a case officer!!!! woooo hoooo,

 

however, i'm now in a flap need to have meds and police checks done in 28 well 27 days. i was planning to do them in february and front load them!! Given that its christmas next week and everything grinds to a halt for a fortnight i'm in a right panic. i wanted to loose a stone an stop smoking before i went for this!! well thats not gonna happen.

 

does anyone know which northern med centres are pretty easy going? anyone been to manchester, salford or huddersfield, leeds if they're nice??

 

oh sh** oh sh** oh sh** need to go an write a list or have a large drink of something. !!!!

Please don't worry about the meds....... they're so easy and really nothing to worry about! Your weight and smoking I'm sure won't affect it (certainly not enough to fail..) - you don't look big in your pic??

 

I don't know about 175, but I did think the 28 days is just a token thing.. you're not tied to it... but others will clarify this for you.

Congrats on your case officer.

We had our medicals at St John Street, Manchester, really really lovely there and we got our appointment 5days after we called so pretty quick. They were proffesional but so so nice too, defo recommend them.

Bad time to be loosing weight and stopping smoking !!! Just go in the winter like us , then you don't have to get your bod out until the following Christmas!!!

Meds are easier than we all thought they would be. It was, for us, a health check rather than what I would call a medical. A quick blood pressure check, eye check, I quick squint in the old lug 'oles and that was about it. The only real stuff being the blood checks and the x-rays. Theres no running on tread mills or anything like that. Its totally relaxed and we had us and 6 children going through it all. It was stressful thinking about doing it than the actual day. We went to Sheffield and they were fab.

Good to see you have a case officer already eLodged ours in July too, so maybe ours is soon

 

Good luck with every thing, and the St. Johns practice is good, everything under one roof. we are still waiting for them to send our details off, as Daph and I both had to have blood tests by our family GP which takes weeks to get booked and get the results back. I guess I better get our police checks sent off now.
