How long for state sposorship notification on 475?

Hi

 

As you can see below we applied for our state sponsorship nearly 5 weeks ago (when they received our docs) but have still not got any word back. How long was it for others to hear back? I always thought it was within the 4 weeks time frame or even shorter? Getting a bit jumpy now that with the new ruling they are being a bit more picky!!

 

There are at least two of us in the same situation at the moment...

We got ours in 2 weeks in April 08, average was 4 weeks we were told - bear in mind that this is holiday period as well.

 

As there was a change to MODL and critical skills list, this may also have created some confusion - for more info, see here for announcement in late December:

There may be someone within SA office you can call to find out what is happening, as they are fairly helpful! We wish you luck.

 

In addition, due to change in sponsorship categories at end of year, a lot of people will have been submitting applications prior to 31st December 2008, so there may be a backlog:

Ours took 5 weeks, I think most peoples take 4 weeks, you should be hearing any day now I would think.

Hi - We are still waiting tohear about ours but our agent said due to the christmas period it is on a go slow - I am finding it stressful and feel like I am checking emails every 10 minutes

Ours came very quickly. We'd posted it with some sort of registered post, but couldn't work out if it had arrived or not. Sent them an e-mail asking them just to confirm that all the paperwork had arrived and they didn't reply - just sent the notification that we'd got the sponsorship - don't know if this hurried them up or if it was just a coincidence!

(That was March 08).

Me too - got my TRN no and old passport number memorised. Every morning.....seven thirty.....!!

We e-mailed after not hearing within 20 days. They replied with a grant e-mail. Chase them up!!

It took us about 6 weeks for the state sponsorship to come through...
