Criminal Record Checks

Dear all

 

I am just pre-empting our application and was wondering if we have to do the Criminal Checks via the CRB? I have done one a few years ago for my job and I was wondering if it is the same. I think I am impatient

 

Or shall we wait until our agent tells us to do one? She has told us to wait for the meds. We have just received state sponsorship

Hi,

 

A CRB check is not the same. You have to get a certificate from here http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp

 

I would wait untill you are requested to do the medicals

Barry is correct, you have to download the forms from the acpo website.

 

In light of the latest developments and state sponsored visas being rushed through, I would recommend that you get both your police checks and meds done asap.

Just realised your state sponsored, so Howard is right, do them all soon as they have stated that sponsored visa's will get priority, and hopefully you won't have to wait as long.

Thanks for the advice and form - I think we will take you up on what you have said and get them done ASAP.

 

As our agent hasn't mentioned it and I amnot 100% sure - is there specific places allocated for the meds. We live in the Newcastle Upon Tyne area?

You have to go with a panal doctor, of which there will be a few within driving distance usually. look here

The police checks are valid for 12 months, so if you know your application will be lodged in that time i'd say send it now, its one less thing to stres about when the time comes
