Hubby is a carpenter but I will be the main visa applicant as a nurse. Does anyone know if he will also have to get his skills assessed for working in Adelaide. Can this be done before? I've been looking at the VETASSES but not sure if he will need to do this. Any ideas?

Hi,

he won't need to get his skills assessed for the visa application, unless you needed a few extra points, but as a nurse this in unlikely. To be classed as a skilled tradesman in Australia he will almost cetainly have to undergo some training and study and will need to gain a licence if he want's to work for himself, and I don't think the vetassess will help much, but my info is a bit out of date, someone else will be able to give you the latest info i'm sure.
