I am glad your husband passed so easily, others have been unable to pass, i'm glad I did not need the extra points.
Not if your wife is a native English speaker, if a couple from an non English speaking country applied for a visa to Aus the main applicant would have to achieve a certain ielts passmark depending on visa type and skill, but the spouse of the main applicant and anyone over 18 will still need to prove English skills at a lower level, 4.5 in each area i think it was or pay the second visa fee, in my case my wife is Chinese but could not make the test due to illness, we could not arrange another without delaying the visa and so paid the money.
If your wife is a native English speaker don't worry:):)
