From a childs point of view, what are the best things about moving to adelaide.We are moving out next year and we have 2 youngsters, they would like to know what are the best things to do in adelaide, what are the schools like? do you encounter many creepies? all useful advice to settle a few nerves would be appreciated.

Ok speaking from my 4 year olds point of view after just 2 months -

 

Feeding choocks at Kindy

Learning about Australian heritage in a fun way and enjoying it

Day trips with Kindy where they stop at a park to play on the way!

Walking on the beach - in Winter

Playing in the Garden nearly everyday with 2 new puppies - in Winter!

Riding her new bike around the garden outside - yep still Winter!

People smiling at her and being friendly

Fresh fruit from friends fruit trees and from ours next year

A relaxed lifestyle with her mum and dad going out and about more

Having friends with swimming pools in their gardens

New friends

 

No creepy crawlies yet well not major ones anyway!

 

Dawn is so settled and has so many new friends she cannot remember half their names Her teachers are firmer at Kindy here than her old nursery but she seems to enjoy this and her favourite teacher is the strictest one !!!

where abouts in adelaide have you settled? we have friends in hallett cove and we are thinking of moving there, are the schools ok there? ideally we would like to live near to the beach we have a budget of £250k how close would that get us?? what are your puppies called?? we are getting 2 puppies when we arrive to help the kids settle in..

We have settled in Port Noarlunga South which is near Seaford. We are lucky in that our rental is right on the beach so we have stunning sea views. The pups are called Barney and Socks - got them for similar reasons to you wanting them. Helped Dawn settle and gives her someone to chase round the garden

 

Dawn goes to Kindy and we are happy with where she is but can't comment on other schools as no experience of them yet

 

With a budget of £250K you can pretty much live where you want as this equates to about $600K (ish) which is well above the average house price here

My kids are really happy here which is a huge relief to us I must say.

Josh has lots of new friends at school where he has settled really well and made good progress.

Today - which is mid-winter, we went to play on the beach with the sun shining and the kids running around like looneys rather than being stuck in front of the telly ona rainy afternoon.

There is more space, more child - friendly places and activites, friendly people, good food, good wine (oh sorry that's not for the kids!)

We love it. When walking to school last week, we saw parrots and kookaburrahs and fed kangaroos and patted koalas in anational park last week - I could go on - just come!!
