 Hi, just wondering what to expect (if anything) in the way of family allowance? My family and I are due to arrive in September 09 on a 175 visa from cornwall. Initially we didn't think we would be entitled to any family allowance for the first two years but heard differently from a family member who has made the move, they moved out 2yrs ago on a sponcership visa! Can anyone shed any light on this subject and if so what rate of allowance could you expect to receive? Dean and I have 3 boys, David (8), Cameron (6) and Rowan (4) and we're looking to move to the south east suburbs ? seaford

Cheers

June:unsure:

You can get the equiv of family allowance once you are a permanent resident.

Rates vary according to circumstance, income and age of children. I can't remember the rates I'm sorry, but the facts are out there if you have a look on Centrelink website.
