Sterling vs dollars

Anyone know how long you can keep your money in sterling before you get charged on it, given the current poor exchange rate? Penny

Just keep your money in your UK bank account? Then transfer less than $10,000 at a time when the exchange rate is good. No need to notify authorities if it's less than $10,000 per transaction. Thats the way we did it. A few extra bank charges, but more than made up for it when the exchange rate was very favourable.
