have to say i got rid of all my old statements etc? 'why'?! because i didnt see the point of shipping boxes of old credit and bank statements all the way to australia - why would you?!?!

i obviously brought relevant docuemntation (and that was enough) but statements from old credit cards and old bank accounts?! why on earth would you bring them!? its what paper shredders are for lol! and now thank goodness for internet banking!!!

Because you should keep everything in case of issues like this.

why?like other posters have said they can check their credit file history - and talk to their bank! yes maybe a bit more hassle but so would be keeping every single letter you get from your bank/credit card/loan company etc!

i havent got enough storage for everything i'm afraid - i must need a bigger house lol!

honestly it should be easy enough to sort out, just a hassle ringing round!

Also what happens if you want to go back to live? If you moved from London to Oxford you would keep certain stuff, if moving to another country you should keep the same. You may be in a different country, but unless you have something to hide you should keep your full identity and paperwork as before.

yes i agree you would keep certain stuff...who wouldnt?! but even if i was still living in the uk, once i had closed an account with a bank or a credit card i would still shred the paperwork!can track it all online now anyway!

i dont think they mentioned changing their identity!! :)

some people are hoarders, some people arent i guess! and i'm happy not hoarding, and have no fears of losing my idenity ;) happy hoarding!

no worries i didnt say you were :) like i said some people are hoarders and some people arent - different views etc!

i struggle to throw out old birthday cards to my kids etc but force myself too cos it just gets ridiculous lol!

'adelaidenow'.............you never seem to have a positive thing to say on anybodies thread,i feel you just reply negetively to everyone!!!! yes im hiding something lol(that's why im asking on here for thousands of people to know im a fraudster lol)
your house must be a real fire hazzard with all that paper you keep and your shipping bill must have been immense!!

im not saying yo have to be cheery and positive about everything, just if you have something to offer the person asking the qestion then by all means reply but to just join and not really have anything to offer the thread then why bother?? i asked what i should do?? you joined in to just say "" why would you get rid of everything"" that wasnt what i i was asking. therefore very pointless of you to bother really. but if you want me to thank you then i will!!
