PIA UK Pension Transfer Seminar (& State Pension)

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon.

We are looking to run another UK Pension Transfer Seminar (with an element covering the UK State Pension) again in the next couple of months.

We used to run these Seminars on a regular basis for PIA members but things have been extremely hectic and we have not been in a position to do so recently.

The Seminar is a free event and it covers off the complex area of UK Pension Transfers to Australia. After attending this event it should help you understand the complexities involved and whether you wish to consider transferring your UK Pension.

There have been some major changes lately to the UK Pension system and it is really a good idea to understand what these changes mean to you and the implications of transferring a pension to Australia or not.

I will also touch on the UK State Pension and what happens to it once someone moves to Australia.

My initial thoughts are to hold this around mid August, I run these on a Saturday mid-morning and the venue is in Kent Town.

The Seminar usually runs from between 45 - 60 mins depending on how many questions are asked and we also provide sandwiches and drinks.

If you feel that this would be of interest to you and you would like to come along then please let me know.

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy.

You may not be interested, but an alternative for your UK ex-pat clients in Australia is an NZ QROPS. Limiting the advice to only Aus products does not give clients the full picture on transferring their UK pensions as they can legitimately access NZ schemes under the UK's Finance Act 2004 and Pensions Act 2007. Australian legislation is not an issue, although there are tax considerations - even though all the Aus domiciled clients I have dealt with have found these to be minimal compared to the very significant advantages offered by going via NZ. If you would like another string to your bow, I would be happy to assist in providing your clients with access to the most flexible, accessible QROPS in the world. Whereas you might not have too much of a market for clients in Aus using an Aus QROPS, the NZ alternative immediately provides another option for them. I have been in the industry 23yrs, 18 of which in the UK (mostly as an IFA), am an Authorised Financial Adviser (NZ), Certified Financial Planner (International) and Chartered Life Underwriter (NZ). Colleagues include an international tax specialist, ex-HMRC, PWC and EY in UK, IOM, Bahamas and NZ. Give me a call if you are interested. www.gbpensions.co.nz
