As far as i know, they are basing it on your 07/08 year, this is why the are looking at your end of 08 tax returns??
So, is this per individual or will my husband and I only get one for the 2 of us?
US -> UK -> NZ -> OZ
So to clear things up,you get no money if you have not submitted a tax return for 07/08!!!! Is the money for children in education in any way linked to having submitted a tax return for 07/08 or is it a completely different issue???
Maybe have a read here:
There are several payments available - back to school bonuses, tax payments, etc. Some are based on your 2007/08 income, while others are based on your eligibility for Family Tax Benefits (which are administered by Centrelink).
If it helps anyone to know I don't think i will get anything
Someone posted a link earlier on this thread.......the ATO have a formula on there which will tell you if you are entitled...........it's simple...and applies to every tax payer....e.g. there are 3 tax payers in our house....therefore each of us may be entitled...if we fullfill the critieria stated on the ATO website...
The back to school bonus is paid to families on Family Tax Part A. for each child in fulltime educatiuon...and you have to have been eligible for this payment on the 3rd Feb 09.
Centerlink also have a very good section which explains everything...........
