Some regular posters missing ?

Have to say I don't come here as much as I used to. I tend to use the Facebook groups more now for some reason. Still pop on here most days but spend about 5 minutes a day rather than the 5 hours of 3 years ago. LOL.

Hi, We used the forum for Q&A before coming over and it is still a big help, Since coming 2 mths ago we've been flat out with sort every thing out. now have 12mth rentle in Seaford Meadows. Internet costs a bit to well when you skype with video calls. I do tend to PM more now and dont post many theads (not that i did in the 1st place) but I will get around to posting about our 1st 2 mth in SA soon. Many Thank to you all.

I dont think there is anything wrong with people asking the same questiona as before, most of us have all done it and the answers may have changed since the last time they were asked, thats what this forum is for helping each other.

I read more than I post and as Diane said Facebook gets in the way of everything lol.

Thats what I am on about there is only a few that will help, others just take and don't give anything back.

Like I said not starting an argument but if I have noticed it others must have to.

Everything tends to go quiet over Christmas, and the shops get busier, no idea why. I know there are quite a few of the regular posters who have lots of things going on in their personal life so don't have time to get on, I'm sure in the New Year things will get busier.
I agree with the other posters it would be lovely if those who got help from the forum put something back in, but then I suppose they are busy enjoying their new life and who can blame them.
Facebook does take quite a few members away although to be honest I am contemplating deleting my own account on there, I am fed up of them keep changing the privacy settings I never know whether I am coming or going.

I found this forum when I was bored at work one day and sat googling! We were already in Adelaide and getting established by the time I found the forum so in general I have been more of a contributer than an asker (if that makes sense!!).

I try to contribute to the jobs and careers threads the most as my background is HR/recruitment (along with other areas, I have had a varied work life since coming to Adelaide nearly 5 years ago!!) and I feel I have something to offer in terms of knowledge of this subject. Sometimes though you do find yourself wondering why you put the time and effort in. For example the College I used to work at was inundated with employers contacting us with jobs (admin, secretarial, legal, medical, reception) because they did not want to put them on seek as they could not deal with 100 - 200 applications. I posted this on here and I said come and do a course and I can refer you for the jobs, often you may be the only person I would put forward and the grand total of no one took up the offer, then people will post saying I can't get an office job!

I'm with Jessica. Have offered to help numerous members one way or another and just been messed about. Even waited home all day on a public holiday for a couple to arrive, they never showed or called/text to apologise!!! I read often, but rarely post and each time I do I swear it's the last, but here I am again!!!

Hi been doing the reading too more, sometimes you feel you can't help on some posts on here however when we can we do, not always with the best answers or opinions either,can't always please everyone too.
We have had some fantastic answers to questions we have asked and hopefully we have helped others too with the questions asked.
also made some very good friends too through here.:)

Gotta say if there was a PIA annual awards ceremony for the person that puts up the most helpful and useful advice, you'd definitely be on my list of nominees
