Where is open on Adelaide Cup day?

Hi all -
We are arriving on 10 March, and noticed that it is a public holiday over there for Adelaide Cup Day....
Our question is - will there be any supermarkets open to buy those initial essentials? or cafes, etc, for something to eat/drink? if we are not too jet-lagged that is.

As its a public holiday there wont be any shops or supermarkets open, not too sure about cafe's though:D

Where are you staying when you get here? If it is a rental, maybe you could ask the owner if he/ she could get a few things for you in light of the public holiday...I can't think that they would object.
