      Adelaide Hills Information

Hi. We are thinking about moving to Adelaide Hills when we emigrate to Australia next year. Does anyone have any views on the area? Whats it like? Are there plenty of schools and nurserys there? Are property prices reasonable? Any information on the area will be greatly received.

hi , my brother lives in flagstaff hill. bought a beautiful 4 bedroom house, with a massive garden, and has built a huge pool. he said a (and i agree) that you do get much much more for your money in the hills and away from the coast. he backs onto a beautiful reserve, and the breeze in the summer in the hills is very welcoming. hope this help , ceri

Hi, thanks for your reply. Is there any chance that either you or your brother would be able to PM us some photos of the area? Thanks very much for your help!

Hi, we live in Blackwood, have only been here for 9 weeks and love it. There are lots of nice areas and good schools. It is about 25 mins to the city, 15 mins to the nearest beach and you are not far from all the attractions of the hills, such as wildlife parks etc. Also have Belair national park on our doorstep and Blackwood itself is like a town with lots of shops and facilities. Good luck, Gina

Blackwood sounds like a nice place to live. We currently live in the peak district and are surrounded by beautiful countryside and hills and would miss the views. I would like to be somewhere semi rural with some views and close to city.

There are a 'lot' of nice places to live, the hills sprawls across quite a few suburbs, Blackwood is perhaps just one, hubby recently worked in Burnside & said it was truly beautiful there.

      Good luck.

      Where in the Hills?

As Angela says the Hills could mean many things to many people, we live in the City of Burnside (Glen Osmond) and this is seen as the foothills but then we went to Nepenthe today which is a vineyard in the Hills (near Verdun, highly recommend a leisurely afternoon there) and that is way out towards Hahndorf. I have friends that live in Blackwood and some in Stirling, some in Crafers, all of this is hilly-and then of course you have places down south that are hilly and places in the North that are hilly!!! Sorry, not much help, its a bit like saying I'd like to live in XXXX select a county in the UK, so diverse that you need to see it and get a feel for it.

I really want to continue horseriding so living near the hills would be great.
Is property more expensive there or maybe it is cheaper as further away from city and coast!
Very frosty and cold today yet beautiful.
Don't know if i would miss this or not as i am too cold to ride out and a bit nesh!!
