Camping! where's your favourite place to go?

Hello! we have done one big camping trip where we went to Port Fairy (in october-it was freezing)

we are hoping to go somewhere at Easter but are struggling as we have a dog.....some places that are usually dog friendly arent at christmas or easter :(

also we are aware many sites are booked up.... though we are willing to go unpowered lol!

we dont want to travel further than 4 hours but want somewhere where there is something to see!

thinking Lake Bonney at the minute, or maybe Wallaroo..... but is there much to do in Wallaroo?

we have 4 kids ages 5 and under so a nice site, dog friendly....with some things to do and see lol!

If you can suggest your favourite place to go and why that would be a big help! might help me find somewhere to go!

      thanks!

We stayed at Lake Bonney last Easter - it was lovely up there. We went with Bicycle SA on their cycling weekend - worth considering if you and your kids are into cycling and they usually camp on a local sports field so they were happy last year if we'd wanted to take the dog with us (we didn't, and don't know where they're going this year, sorry!)

You could try the Barossa - they have a nice site in Tanunda I think that allows dogs.

http://www.bikesa.asn.au/EasterCycle - Copper Coast and Moonta this year apparently. Usually lots of families and stuff organised for them

I can only be nice to one person each day....today is NOT your turn...and tomorrow isn't looking too hopeful either.

We've stayed up in Willamstown - near Barrossa, on a great campsite - but I cant seem to find the website for it. Its called Jubilee Caravan park in Willamstown...anyway, it has a great park for the kids and a fab open air very big swimming pool.

We also stayed in Robe over New Year at the Big 4 Discovery Campsite - that has good parks for younger children and a nice indoor swimming pool - which might better if you're thinking about going in Easter

      Hi

Not sure how far south you are ,but there is a good camp site at Port Willunga .We stayed here when we first came over and dogs are welcome .It has just been made into a Big 4 .Worth a look.http://port-willunga-tourist-park.sa.big4.com.au/

Berri in the Riverland is lovely and is good for fishing, canoeing and boat rides. We also love Port Rickaby on the York Peninsula but there's not so much to do, might be a but too quiet if you're looking for things to do.

We went camping just after christmas to Rapids Bay , it was brilliant its right on the beach, great for fishing , a little park for the kids, BBQ's and you can take your dog . it was $6 per adult the kids were free.
Also if you a 4x4 there is a 4x4 track about 15 mins away where you can go off roading !!!
we are looking for some where for easter thats also good for the kids and has great fishing .
