Yabbies
Anyone know some good places to catch yabbies along the river Murray? Went yesterday just south of the overpass and not a yabbie in sight (or in my net). Could be better further north of Murray Bridge but didn't have time to check it out. Any body had any luck?

I have no idea where to catch these things, but can you tell me what they taste like?
Do they have that muddy taste that some fresh water critters do?
I know it is a different thing altogether, but my US friends raved about Catfish. I had some and it tasted like the bottom of a muddy bucket.
Yuk!
So I was just wondering if they were worth a go!

Definitely worth a go. Not as sweet as prawns but good eating in a seafood salad or fried up with a bit of garlic butter or with sweet chili sauce. You can catch up to 200 if you can find them, and no size limit. Just need to find out where they live. almost forgot females with eggs MUST be put back.
