So much going on in Adelaide right now!

I once read that Fringe season in Adelaide is like the party - the rest of the year is the hangover ;) Whilst this is maybe a slight exaggeration, it's certainly a great time to be in Adelaide. A few great things coming up to check out:

Adelaide Fringe - similar to Edinburgh Fringe - 3 and a bit weeks of comedy, theatre, musicals, cabaret, circus and much more. Check out www.adelaidefringe.com.au There are lots of discounted tickets available to at the Bank SA Fringe site (talkfringe.com) Even if you're not sure if it's 'your thing' do check out the Garden of Unearthly Delights on the corner of North and East terrace just for a wander or a beer http://www.gardenofunearthlydelights.com.au/

Adelaide Festival - www.adelaidefestival.com.au - more arts and cultural goodness

Cellar Door Wine Festival - over 150 wineries from all over SA under one roof this weekend at the Adelaide Convention Centre - I went last year for the first time this event was on and it was fabulous. The entrance fee includes a souvenir glass and one full glass of wine (plus tastings of course from as many of the wines as you like all day - dangerous!) www.cellardoorwinefestivaladelaide.com.au

It's also music festival season - for dance lovers there's Future Music coming up and also Womadelaide for world music, both on the March long weekend - www.womadelaide.com.au http://www.futureentertainment.com.a...musicfestival/

Clipsal 500 motorsports event - 1-4 March plus live music in the evenings http://www.clipsal500.com.au/

I'm sure someone more sporty than me could also add a few sporting events coming up too. Hope this gives some ideas to newbies or not-so-newbies looking for something new to try. Adelaide might be quiet for some tastes, but I honestly have no idea how anyone could be bored Feb-March with so much exciting stuff happening! And no - I don't work for the tourist board - just love this season!
