      Gift Shops

Another question for those on the warmer side of the pond. My mum flies back on Sunday and she wants to get some "Australiana" souveniers . I have no idea where to take her. Can anybody give me some ideas on where there are some decent gift shops, preferably down south???

      Hi

I quite like the geographical shop in Marion shopping centre, top floor, it sells some good ozzie gifts. Also some funny ones aswell, like Kangaroo Poo and Koala Poo (chocolate coated peanuts, really). But it also has ozzie bush tea, handcrafted gum leave coasters and pot stands, wine holders etc, I'm sure you get my drift.

There's also another shop not that far from that one that sells ozzie gifts, like cuddly toys, clocks, book marks etc

Marion shopping centre - got very tradional gifts - boomerangs, car plates, pens etc - think it's on the top floor near one of the entrances - think it's near cinema

Marion seems to feature quite highly in the reccomendations, and I would add the Marion Cultural centre, where there is a craft gallery selling good quality items, at what we thought were reasonable prices.
Marion Cultural Centre is situated quite close to the shopping area, but is across the car park, almost in line with Bunnings. It also houses Marion Library and a small theatre, as well as quite a good cafe.
In fact we have been in there today, browsed the gallery and had a Seniors lunch for A$9 a head.

What a shame, you'll have to look at all the shops then to make it worth while.:D:)
