Charges for breaking a lease

Hi Guys.

As the title says could anyone tell me roughly how much i would be looking at paying if i break my lease? I understand there would be advertising costs but have no idea how much this could be. I'm guessing i would have to pay the rent until the house is filled as well, is this something you have to do until the contract officially ends. If i do this i don't see why the my current rental wouldn't be snapped up quickly but the thought of paying 2 lots of rent isn't good.

Cheers for any info.

Hi there

Think you will find that as long as you advertise the rental yourself and find someone to take it straight away then you will not have to pay, we are breaking ours and advertising it on here and have had loads of response.

All they want to know is there will be no gap, if there is a gap then you will be responsible for that payment.

Don't think you need to worry, there seems to be alot of people looking for rentals.

Tell the agent that you want to find a tenant yourself and as soon as you do then you steer them in the direction of the agent, you avoid paying the agents advertising fees.

Cheers Col
