Hi there

Okay, just had word that we've not got OAA which is a real pain in the bum as we land in Adelaide on 29th Oct so just over 2 weeks.

We now need to organise 'cheap' temp accommodation for a few weeks until we have decided on a suburb and found a house to rent longer term. Size of property at this stage is not important...a 2 bed would do as there are only 4 of us and our two daughters are 5yrs old and 8months old (so they could share).

I know I've seen a few people on here with holiday lets mentioned...if anyone has any ideas or knows someone that has somewhere available for when we arrive that would be a great help.....I was so calm about everything before this all happened :arghh:

Hi Mark

I'm sorry to hear you didn't get OAA. I think trying the holiday parks is a good one although http://www.roorentals.com.au/ (Roo1) might be able to help or http://www.auseelife.com.au/ (Tyke) - if they don't have available properties they may know of some. Also try http://www.kalabityjane.com/ down in Aldinga.

You could also try http://www.stayz.com.au/ for last minute possibilities perhaps. Have just had a tentative look on this and there are some available for your dates - 2 bed places in Glenelg for approx $700 per week, not exactly 'cheap' but unfortunately short term holiday type accommodation isn't. Brighton Caravan park have budget cabins, maybe try them?

Good luck with sorting something out.

Odette :)

Hi Mark - have you tried Donna at Tom Walsh real estate? djacob@westnet.com.au She has several furnished rentals at good prices.

Or you could try Ethelton Apartments http://www.etheltonapartments.com.au/ they are aimed more at business travellers but are very nice (my in-laws stayed there)

or try gumtree http://adelaide.gumtree.com.au/f-Unit-House-Real-Estate-house-unit-apartment-rental-W0QQCatIdZ18364

Good luck!

I second that!! Donna has been superb for us - highly reccommend her! We are coming to the end of our short term lease at the end of october - 2 beds near the beach in south brighton so I think that would be available.

Hope you get something sorted soon :)

been looking around and prices are steep even for a 2 bed apartment....idealy don't want to waste too much cash on what will only really be a crash pad for the first few weeks of mayhem (hahaha)...so trying to find something for no more than $500 per week.

Got one of my best mates girlfriends, sister (who lives in Adelaide) on the case as well for me.....Zoe (the wife - and zedster on here) is taking it in her stride (normally me like that) and is asleep in the lounge....hahahahaha
