Furnished or Unfurnished
OK, my second question today (probably the first of many)! Do rental properties in Adelaide (South) tend to be furnished or unfurnished? It's dificult to know what to bring and what not to bring - we will go into short term holiday let on arrival and then look for something more long term - don't want to bring all our furniture and then be stuck with it, but also don't want to get rid of it all here and then find we've got to rebuy it all in adelaide!
Long term rentals do not come fully furnished - or 99%
Cookers and hobs should be in but that's about it - you might be lucky and see a washing machine:):)
Most are unfurnished, but there are fully furnished (and some partly furnished) places about. Have a look at realestate.com.au for an idea in the area/price range/size you are looking at. We found something (unfurnished) and moved in within 3 weeks of arriving in Adelaide, but could have been sooner than this if we'd needed.
A lot of the properties are available 'now' rather than in the future so you may need to move quick. We went to Ikea and bought furniture, next day delivery is normal so no problems being without for any length of time. Fridge etc also did delivery in 48 hours.
As said, most are unfurnished, bare shells.Try and ensure if possible that the rental you get has air con and heating(big issues)Also, built in wardrobes.Ours has not,and we have had to run around with a trailer for the last month picking up seven wardrobes! All the best,Sue.
