looking to rent in Hallet Cove or Seaford

Hi all

 

Hopefully should be flying out to Adelaide in early January and was wondering if anyone could tell me the best real estate to go to for rental properties in Hallet Cove or Seaford. We are going to apply for social housing but obviously that's only there if they have available properties!

Not sure if you have already tried this but look at www.realestate.com.au then go the the SA rental section and choose the suburbs that you are interested in.

 

Usually 12 months is the minimum lease for rentals but some will offer 6 months.

Unfurnished rentals are in high demand, especially in popular areas like Hallett Cove.

Keep checking www.realestate.com.au daily when you arrive and also the Adelaide Advertiser newspaper and www.gumtree.com. Contact as many real estate agents in the area too and make yourself known.

We have just been accepted for a rental in Seaford hooray! There are so many people looking for rental properties here that agents really don't need to push the properties that hard. Consequently you have to do all the phoning and keep checking for viewing times, as they probably won't call you. Sorry if that sounds a bit grumpy but that's our experience!

 

The houses generally have a viewing time of between 15 minutes to half hour, and if you can't make it - tough!! It's a bit strange everyone wandering round at the same time, but at least if you hate it you can escape quickly. You then take an application form, ideally fill it in there and then, and give them lots of references, copies of ID's, visa info, anything that makes you look like desirable tenants.
