Life is full of different people with different tastes and different expectations, Its good to see a good debate on this forum for once. I've only been a member for a short time and it all seems so nicey nicey and false.
I have read this thread from the begining and have to agree with you PP!

I have met many many people here, some are in the "not lovin it camp" some are in the middle and some are in the " I fell into a good job with good pay and dont know what the fuss is about" camp... now the big question is ...what camp will you be in when you arrive????
I have also noticed that sometimes someone here can post on a thread and it can be completely disregared by people in the UK because it is not what they want to hear as it does not fit into thier dream, "rosey glasses syndrome".
For what it is worth....take all the info and research, research, research your self.
Never presume that some one is just being "negative", these are their findings and it could be any of you next with those findings, you wont know till you get here!
If you think that some of us have nervous dispositions and negative attitude (your response to my post) maybe you should question this again after thinking how it was you who got fired up- if you still think that it is some of us and that is what you are coming to Oz to get away from then maybe we have saved you some time, money and stress in getting the visa and doing the journey!!!! Can't believe I took the bait and let you lower me to your childish level! Now I'm off for a walk to calm down - think I'll walk along the coast and watch the sea lions/ platypus basking in the sun on their backs in the sea and then home to have a nice healthy brekkie of oranges and grapefruit off the tree in the garden!!!!!!
you can get the 7k first home owners grant if u are in the uk but will have to take up occupancy with in 12 months. there r many pitfuls from buying abroad and it will be a bit of a gambol but like ive said before buy a place for its postion and views not the size of the house. you can always improve the house but not the postion it located in.
Yes you can get the grant from the UK but it is only available to those with permanent residency who intend to use it as there principal residence within 12 months of settlement or completion of construction, you can see more details on this website. http://www.revenuesa.sa.gov.au/
