Just like most people, we are looking for a short term rental (upto 9 weeks). it has to be within 25 mins drive of the CBD and located to the west or south of the city.

Two bedrooms please, oh and they must allow our retired greyhound to reside there too.

so can anyone help?

Hi, like you when we were heading over here (Nov 09) we were looking for a short term rental. They seem to be few and far between unless you go for a holiday home, which are expensive. What we found out once we had signed up for a year, is that you can break your lease quite easily, you just have to ask the agent to find someone else. You have to pay the rent and advertising costs until they or you find a new tenant but you get your deposit back. We have rented a really cheap 3 bed house for $270 per week in Aberfoyle Park (30mins drive to the CBD) and are now in the process of buying a house so will be breaking our lease as soon as it goes through. By the way, if you are a permanent resident you can apply for rent assistance from Centre link. All the best with your move. Mel

Hi, we stayed with friends for the first 3 weeks when we got here. We then went to lots of opens and picked the cheapest. We are hoping to break our lease but we are waiting to see the offer we made on a house has been accepted. If it has and you are interested in our rental I could ask our agent if pets are allowed. It has a really big garden / scorched grass so it would be good for a dog. When are you planning to move over? Pm me if you want me to keep you up to date or you want any more help or info. Mel
