NineMSN money magazine has got a web page at the moment where you can rate your suburb.

Whilst you cannot use the ratings as gospel as some people will almost become blind to their own area and think it's the best without good reason, and some areas have only received a few votes so they don't have a proper sample size yet, it is still interesting to see where people appear to be really enjoying where they live based on the criteria.
