Hi we're new to Adelaide and looking for a permanent place to live, we have heard that Henley, Grange, West Beach etc. are good we have also read about the new area of Mawson Lakes. Anybody any experience or views, please let us know!!!

Cheers Duncan

We are renting in Grange and it is a great area to live.

A lovely beach, train line to the city, 5 minutes down the road from West lakes shopping and AAMI stadium, a good primary school. We have primary school aged children, but there is less choice here for secondary schools than the eastern suburbs though. Just a nice quite beachside suburb with a good mix of people, friendly people too. One pub, a few cafes, surf club, takeaways, doctors, dentists, hairdressers etc - no banks or big shops but West Lakes is so close by. Plenty of playgrounds and open spaces for the kids. It's so nice having the beach nearby.

The biggest problem is that property is very expensive here compared to other areas, it makes me cry when I see some of the prices down south. Moving down there is not really an option for us because we have friends and family in this area, so we will have to compromise on the house we eventually buy. So a great place but not cheap.

There are a few on the board that live / rent in the lakes.

It's in a good location, and easy to get to the city and about 15 mins from the beach.

You will get buzzed by the small planes from parafield airport.
