Hello,

I just wondered if there was anyone out there living in Aldgate, we have been looking at areas to live, if we ever get to Oz, Aldgate seems a beautiful place with a nice country feel. Anyone and advise on the place ? places to dine/socialise and also schools

we have an 11 year old & a 14 year old

Thanks Louise & Chris

Hi Louise and Chris

Another lancashire lass.. whereabouts in lancs are you? we are in Barrowford. We went to oz earlier this year and met up with some friends in Aldgate. We thought it was beautiful...very very beautiful. :jiggy:Its like a country drive through the suburb (just like a little village) and has a few eateries and shops if i remember rightly. Stunning place. My hubbie was going to drive us back home on the freeway after having lunch at our friends but i wanted to drive back through for another glimpse.

I fell in love with it but think we want to be by the coast initially but would love to buy there eventually. Can't speak for everyone though and this was just our impression.

Bye

Louise and Craig

Not been there myself but few links here with some more info -

I would recommend a good drive round diferent areas when you get here to see what they are like as things can look a little different online  All the areas we had originally thought of got ruled out for one reason or another and we now live somewhere we had never heard of but is perfect for us and lots around to keep a little one amused too :jiggy:

The Aldgate/Stirling and Crafers areas are lovely.

Prices can be quite high there - mainly due to the easy commute to the city.

We were originally quite taken by the area as well.

One thing that nags me about the area is that it is very full of trees and there could be a problem in bushfire season.

Bushfires do happen here and in living memory two have ravaged parts of the hills areas in living memory.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply, we live in Laneshawbridge...

We went to Adelaide in April for 3 weeks for a look around, we really loved the place and pinpointed areas which we would loke to live. We have been looking on the web for houses but just cant decide on an area. I loved aldgate & Stirling, yet the coast is also beautiful.

When are you hoping to get your visa's. We currently have a case officer and have all the meds/checks done so far . Just a waiting game for us now.
