For long term rentals our main website for searching for rentals is http://www.realestate.com.au/rent?searchMapId=SA you do need to know what area you are looking at initially. Only realestate agents can list on this site and so many private landlords list with out local newspaper "The Advertiser" and the Saturday copy has the most listed and from there it is a lot of attending inspections. Also a lot of the suburban newspapers like the Messenger and the Courier have listed rentals of the suburbs you decide to live. The first thread I listed is a good one as it gives some reasons about why it is practically impossible to rent an unfurnished long term property unless you are over here to see it. Most people take out furnished rental when they first arrive until they find a place. There are quite a few options including some members of PIA who have furnished rentals
