Looking for short term rental or long term pet friendly rental from September

Hi

It looks like our UK house sale is going through which means we can book our flights to Adelaide at the end of August. We did a reccie at the end of May and want to try and find somewhere in the southern suburbs, ideally somewhere from Brighton down to Sheidow Park/Hallett Cove. One of us will be working in the CBD and the other either at the RAH or Flinders so we need good transport links.

Our plan at the moment is to move just the 2 of us first and stay in a short term rental, then to give us time to find a longer term rental when we can then send our 2 dogs. This is because we don't know if we can find a 6-12 month rental from the very start.

They are only small cockers and both are well trained house dogs so we hope it won't be a major problem finding something. We are looking at both short term/long term now in case something comes up and we need to act quickly. Ideally we would like the dogs to join us in Oct/Nov time but we know this is all dependent on finding somewhere.

Any suggestions? We are constantly on the main websites and have registered with a few real estate agents.

All help is appreciated

Craig and Kathleen (Riley and Cleo)

Just checking, but you have started the ball rolling for their rabies vacs and bloodwork etc? Usually needs to be done at least 5 months before departure from UK to ensure they only spend the 30 day minimum in Aus quarantine.

Yes we are using Petair and Bob has been giving me great advice. They are past the 5 month period at the end of september. Just need somewhere for them to live

Hi Craig and Kathleen, I have just posted this if your interested.

We moved over from Scotland 7 months ago and moved into a beautiful 3 bedroom house, 10 houses from Brighton Beach and a short walk from Brighton Jetty. The house is in immaculate condition. The house is in the Brighton High School Zone, we love the area so much we have bought a house here. This means we have 4 months available on a short term lease for any families that might be interested. It's available from the 1st of September and can send photographs if anybody wishes. We have a dog which was ok'd with the landlord previously, so pets won't be a problem. Have a holiday for the next 4 months!

Hi Kathleen, we have only been here a month we came ova with our son and 2 dogs . We are in a fully furnished 3 bed property with a pool and its pet friendly in christies beach . We are paid up here untill 8th october but we are breaking our lease and moving out on the 28th august so this property is avaliable in september . Its a bit further south than hallett cove so i don't know if it suits you but if you want to have a look go on http://www.homesdownunder.com and look at the website and pictures of the house its the boomerang house .

We used pet air to bring our dogs over they were so good and bob is so lovely . I was really worried about the dogs flying and having quarantine but they were absolutely fine and its lovely getting then back !

Any way good luck kathleen xx

Hi, We are living in Hallett Cove in a 3 bed house with a lovely big enclosed garden, close to shops, train and plenty of parks for dog walking. We are planning to move out of our rental in September as we need more bedrooms for visitors. Our landlord is lovely and the house is really nice its just not quite big enough for our needs. pm me if you want any more info. Good luck with your move. x

Hi

Thanks for the info. The dogs don't join us until later October and we have booked into Tyke's hosue in Woodcroft for the first 6 weeks. We are going to use that time to learn more about the various suburbs and start looking for a long term rental. Hopefully that can all be done in those first 6 weeks so we can move into a place and be ready for the dogs at the end of October.
