Hi,

We will be arriving on 15 Jan 2016 from South Africa, this may be early days but we hope to get a break to take over a lease in Hallett Cove from 15 Jan 2016. can pay bond and 3/4 months rent in advance to clinch deal.

Have reference from landlords (South Afica) for the property we leased after we sold our house in Dec 2014.

I will maybe post a bit later again, also looking for car, willing to pay in the region of $5000 when we arrive.

Its probably still a bit early for people to list a lease break in mid Jan. Though doing what you are doing posting letting people know you are looking is fine :)

FWIW, as has been said, generally people rent a short term let of some kind for a few weeks to enable them to find a longer term rental. Lease breaks come up less often and as has been said, a new lease is negotiated by the person coming in.

Also the open rental market will hopefully give you more options of availability.

Decent rentals don't stay on the market for long, good ones will be snapped up after the first open, so really apart from research not worth looking seriously until you arrive. There will be opens where everyone goes to look rather than appointments.

Make sure you have all the info they need ready if you are keen. Most agents have example application forms on line for you to get an idea.

Good that you have a short term rental booked as it is a busy time for holiday rentals. Not quite so busy for sales or long term rentals though. We arrived at the end of January and didn't have many rentals to choose from.

Still you are in time for the silly season here, starting with the Tour Down Under about the time you arrive, then the main festivals begin.............
