Just a quickie to say that I would definitely recommend a holiday in Tasmania. We have just come back from a 6 day break and had a fantastic time (although it's a little on the chilly side this time of year).
The scenery is spectacular (apparently very much like New Zealand) and there is lots to do. We had 3 nights in Hobart (my favourite) and 2 nights in Launceston. A boat trip around Bruny Island is a must to see the local wildlife.
Tiger Airways fly direct from Adelaide, although I had heard bad reports about them we had no problems apart from a half hour delay one way.
Thanks for the recommendations - do you know what's good for kids to do there as we're considering going with a 1 and 3 year old next year. :)

In the summer the beaches would be great for the kids to play on and I know there are a couple of Wildlife Parks (including a Tasmanian Devil sanctuary).
Don't forget to check out the market at Hobart on Saturdays (kids would like the candy floss).
Hope this helps
