Does anyone know where I can get lights at reasonable prices?

      Hi everyone,

We need to buy new lights for nearly our entire house and we aren't coming up with much because they are sooooo expensive! We went to all the ones on Anzac Highway today (about 6 shops in a row!) and the sort of thing I'm hoping to get is around $800!

Even a row of 4 spotlights can be $200+. I've even been looking at Next and M&S until I spotted they weren't available for international delivery :(

I need a large set of spotlights (5 or 6 bulbs/ globes), 3 largeish ceiling pendants for living areas and also a feature light for the dining area. I can't afford thousands and am running out of places to look. Checked out Ikea and don't fancy much on there. Hoping someone knows a secret place that I don't know of!

      Thanks in advance :D

Yep, tried there. They have a few bits that are ok, but nothing that I could use as a feature etc - and their spotlight bars aren't big enough. Thanks though! xx

Hope you find what you looking for. Will keep my eyes open on our travels and if we spot any light shops will let you know. I have seen one about but cant for the life of me remember where it is. x

Have you tried IKEA, we are getting some nice lights from there and Bunnings too, we find that between both stores they have just what we would love in our new place and at good prices too.

There is a really cheap place out on Grand Junction Road on the left on the way to Port Adelaide, i have never been in just driven past it a few times.

      Good luck.

      Hi Jo.
You could also try The Fan Shop, 21 Tapleys Hill Road, Hendon. They specialise in ceiling fans (as the name suggests) but have always have a good range of lights too. They also sell wholesale so prices are generally good.

Electrical Wholesalers such as L & H will sell to the public. They almost always have things like extractor fans, light fittings etc on special.

-hate to mention this-but has anyone told you we are meant to get all 240 volt installations with an earth wire checked by a Class A Electrician and keep the Certificate of Compliance?

the good news is that most Sparkies will do a "Foreigny" on a Saturday morning for a bit cheaper.
