Hi all, I'm after a bit of advise.
We are currently renting in the western suburbs of Fulham Gardens. We know deep down that unless we buy a small unit with no yard we would not be able to afford to settle in the west long term. My son is very settled at his school and his walk to school by the side of the Torrens river outlet is beautiful and amazing, passing cockatoo's and ducks every day. He has made good bonds with his school mates in such a short time. Our neighbors are really nice and helpful (we really couldn't have picked a nicer place to settle on migration)
We are actively searching for property and are journey has brought us south and we have found one in Seaford (yes we have spread our wings a bit).
We know we can afford the mortgage and we will be comfortable, It is very close to the beach and a nice size plot, which is one of the reasons for emigrating along with the weather as Derby in the UK is quite land locked and wet.
We are due to sign the contract for the house on Wed 24th August.
This property is close to a school and reading PIA it is in the catchment area so fingers crossed, but we would not be sure until next week as the head is away!!!
My wife Jane would like to make a home as we haven't opened many of our shipped boxes. My son Joseph understands that he would have to move schools (which breaks my heart seeing the bonds he has made). My work could be based from say, Flinders Medical through the CBD up as far as Elizabeth (who knows).
One guy has told me to enjoy where you live and deal with the driving.
Without causing a stink I was wondering on the area as what we have seen and the guys at work say its great down there.
Because there is a lot of Brits in the area, have we/they/you brought over the English mentality of our house is bigger than your house ETC..... i don't want to bring my son into that at school.
I'm just trying to get a feel of things, no offence intended.
Thanks for reading please ease my restlessness of the UNKNOWN
