The Idiot that drives the bus down Main north road in a morning needs to learn how to count then!
Don't pass an emergency vehicle with it's lights on at more than 40 K's.
Indicate for 5 seconds before pulling out (yes in a car too)
Or just Obey the law and you won't get nicked.
Next time get the bus fleet number, it will be on the back of the bus,
IF it has 4 numbers starting in either a 2 or 3 e.g. 2258 then its a southlink bus so phone them and complain if the driver cuts you up.
If it has 4 numbers starting in a 1 e.g. 1617 then its a torrens transit bus just the same as if it only has 3 numbers as a fleet number then its a torrens transit bus.
Im sorry but bad bus driving really hacks me off especially when your driving something that could weigh 40 tonnes, but dont forget the bad car drivers out there as well that must get infront of the bus at all cost just to slam the brakes on and turn off.
Been driving around Adelaide and all suburbs in Semi truck and car everyday and with experience and talking to aussies at work think Im learnin a few tricks.
Dont set cruise control on speed limit. The weight of vehicle,on a downslope will drift you over limit quite easily before you are aware.Go 10% Under.
Traffic light cameras stop if you can at any cost even if it means burying your nose in steering wheel. Some change real fast.
Unmarked police camera cars are easy to spot. Look for the 3 antennas or for a car parked where no one in their right mind would park on the side of the road.
Dont recall seeing many cameras on lonsdale Rd but south Rd the police are there quite often especially edwardstown area.
Just stick to limit and if someone wants to pass. LET THEM ! Ive had a couple of occasions now where ive been passed only to see the car be flashed or pulled.

Good thread. Didn't know about the bus indicator thingy. Haven't yet got caught out but as a pedestrian I am always amazed about the turning left when you are crossing the road thing and relying on the drivers to notice me. As a driver I am always worried I will forget about that but somehow seem to notice. What was so difficult about just having red for stop on a pedestrian crossing and green for go????

Not exactly what i had in mind. I was gonna call the bus company to tell them coz clearly he was struggling poor bugga!
As there is little else for the average Adelaide Bobby to do in the way of crime, then we find ourselves driving around with one eye on the speedo all day long, worried that we have gone to work all day(or even longer)only to finance the state and it's subsiduaries. The draconian road laws and absurd fines here are IMO quite outrageous. It really is Cat and Mouse as soon as you get behind the wheel here in Adelaide.Advice is obvious regarding this issue, but often not practical ,and guess who knows this better than you!!!!;)
i find most bus driver just put on their indicators and pull out straight away!!!! if i see an indicator i give way but 1/2 a second warning is not enough!
Got 175 visa 18th April 08
