Hi everyone, I hope I am ok posting this in here - this thread came up in my search for forums regarding marine insurance.

I am a marine insurance broker specialising in cargo. In addition I spent two cricket seasons playing for Gravesend in the Kent League in '03/4 and my partner is a Kent native who I met when over there. We now live in Sydney with our 4yr old daughter; so I know all too well the stresses of Au/Uk moves!

Should have have any questions whatsoever regarding insurance wordings/options just let me know at tim.cutler@fp-marine.com. Feel free to check us out at www.fp-marine.com.au or my twitterfeed at www.twitter.com/TimCutlerFP. We have six offices including London, Hong Kong, Sydney & Melbourne.

For professionally packed shipments our full "accidental damage" cover is availabe with a base rate of 0.17%. Standard excess is 1% of the sum insured (min AUD500) however you can reduce your premium with higher excesses of 2%/min $1,000 by 15% - and 3%/min $2,000 by 27.5%.

If you would like a quote or have any questions please just fire away!

Many thanks - and sorry for the spam!
      Tim

Ah, that's sad to hear, are you not happy here ?
I found myself unhappy and struggling to settle for at least 6 months but after that I started to see the positives. My hubby is still really keen on going home and I can't see that ever changing....
I hope you find happiness, where ever it may be Tess

      UK bound

We too are currently in the process of obtaining quotes for shipping back to the UK. We have had quotes from Peter at ITS and also Wridgeways and Crown. We contacted another removal company who failed to get back to us. Does anyone have any other companies they can recommend for removals?

Hi I am using Wridgways as they seemed the most professional and were really helpful. I also obtained quotes from Crown, Kent and Chess. Chess were really cheap but they didn't seem as professional as Wridgways. They are doing the collection this week, so will know a but more then!

one thing I would def advise is to ship over as much as you can before you come here, as most things are more expensive than the UK. I'm a mechanic and was going to ship my tools over but decided agaisnt it. Now I'd have to pay triple the price for the kind of quality tools I had in the UK.....so now stuck with cheap chinese crap!
