Wanted - mens mountain/road bike

looking for a 26inch mountain bike if anyone has second hand one. Preferably fairly cheap as its for cycling around city each day! Cheers

Frame sizes are measured from the centre of the crank to the top of the seat tube. For the average sized adult you'd probably be looking at either a 19" or a 21" frame. A 26" frame would be impossible to ride unless you were a giraffe!

Tyre/wheel sizes are usually 26" though.

 

If you're looking for "cheap" try to hold out for a decent brand as a K-Mart or Big W bike will disappoint in the long run. Walk away if anything is rusty unless it's a small part such as a bolt or nut.

 

Edit: This one looks like a 19" frame and may be worth a look. I have no connection with the seller - just browsed Gumtree.

If you live in the west suburbs, there is a guy that sells and mends 2nd hand bikes from his home garage in Fulham Gardens/Kidman Park on Riverway just turn left at Laurie St and its a few houses down the road on the left. Very Cheap !!!!!! his house looks on to liner park, the torrens river cycle/walk track from coast to city

...and register on Bicycles.net where there is another decent classifieds section. Also Morphett Vale cashies have Trek 4100 for $99 at the moment but it's only a 16½" frame so might be too small for a giraffe
