  1. If your passport has expired then the answer to the question ‘do you have a current passport’ would be ‘no’ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Of course you are correct. I was not referring to heritage buildings with original features and exposed timber floors. I was referring to most rental properties. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Nah our UK passports expired years ago. We just did our citizenship and applied for Aussie ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It makes no sense for landlords to exclude pets. They are limiting their potential market, reducing their yield and any damage caused by the pet gets paid for with the tenants bond anyway. It just doesn’t make sense! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Might be cheaper to just let the property agent doc your bond when you move out. They will have a handyman on their books who will work for a lower rate for the manager. You could pay for it to be repaired only for the dog to do it again before you move out. Nip over to the Sailey, have a wine and chill [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Sorry I have no idea, the guy that bought it said it was going to be used in a TV program! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Where abouts are you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. All sorted, we have since been taking them to a Medibank preferred dentist and now we pay next to nothing. The previous dentist was obviously bending us over. That being said, it now transpires the younger one needs a brace and even with the new dentist it's going to be $5000 Hey Ho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Done, please let us know how you go on. Regards Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Did you give anyone power of attorney to sign on you're behalf in the U.K.? If not it would just mean them sending the paperwork over here and you sending it back. Sold 2 since I've been here and both times used a UK conveyancer. Can't imagine why you would use an Australian one, they wouldn't know the process Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Just poor some olive oil on the car bonnet and chuck your snags on. Job done, no need to light the barbie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have used Katie Costa from Rise High Financial on numerous occasions. I can highly recommended her and she goes out of her way, coming to your house after hours of it suits. She will bring all paperwork to you for signing (our previous broker made us go to the bank in the city!) Then she will keep on top of your loans and negotiate a lower rate if they are no longer competitive. I will PM you her contact details Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yes it's still available. If buying a new house or apartment, I would encourage you to find something with some scarcity value. New properties in 'Lego land' type developments will take some time to be worth what you paid for them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hi there! There is a Facebook page called Adelaide Rental Property you could check out, there's plenty of lease breaks and private landlords advertising direct on there. However, I would think Realestate.com.au would have the most choice. Many people obtain rentals by just showing their bank statement or job offer, but your application will be getting compared to anyone else's who wants to rent the property and theirs may be more favourable if they have a checkable rental history. Some rental managers won't accept an application from someone who hasn't seen the property, and you would be unwise to apply for a place you hadn't checked out in any case. Landlords are keen for tenants to move in as soon as possible so any that are willing to wait for you to arrive would raise some suspicion? Might be better to arrange a short term rental on arrival then look for somewhere more permanent once you have had chance to look around. There are members on here who offer short term rentals Hope that helps a little
