  1. Just priced based on similar cars and mileage on car sales websites and similar cars available in the local area - will accept offers
  2. 2004 Black Mazda Maxx Sport 2.0L 5d Hatchback, Manual Transmission. 170000Km I bought this car when we arrived in Adelaide in April 2013 and only selling as we are leaving to go back to the UK. Has been a fantastic car, I love it - very nippy and very comfortable to drive. Great sized boot. Has been regularly serviced and well looked after. Rego til April 2016. Located in the Barossa but can be flexible. $8000 ONO
  3. Which other companies did you get quotes for? How much stuff are you taking - did they give you any idea of transit time going that way? Was there a lot of variation in quotes from diff companies? Sorry for all the qus!! Thanks
  4. Who did you end up using? Just starting to get some quotes ourselves so wondering if you had any recommendations? Thanks
  5. Any recommendations on this thread? We're looking at moving back later this yr/early next yr so recommendations would be fab - thanks
  6. We used PSS (from Glasgow though but I'm sure they're nationwide) - excellent service and best price out of 4 different companies. We used them in Feb '13 and were v happy with everything
  7. OOOOOOPS sorry I read that post completely wrong - I read it as UK to Adelaide - silly me I take all that back, no idea about the return journey yet! Thanks for pointing that out Snifter......! Emma
  8. **CORRECTION - IGNORE THIS POST...!** Emma PetAir will board some pets before their travels too if they have to wait. If they've not had rabies vaccinations and blood tests then they have to wait 150 days before they can travel following the blood test - would you have any family they could stay with in the mean time and then fly them over once the 150 days is up? PetAir are excellent - we've used them for our dog who's currently in Melbourne quarantine but they went above and beyond to help and are all so full of knowledge of the export process that they will do all they can to help I'm sure. Hope you sort something out
  9. Thanks for all that info! We don't mind if it's not 40C...the parents are going to be coming over from the middle of the UK winter so think it'll be hot enough. Will look into a few other options. Trevorpayne - any idea if your friends list their house on a website or something to take a look at? Emma
  10. Hi everyone, My husband and I live just on the edge of the Barossa, we've been he for 6 weeks now and finally getting settled. We have both sets of parents coming over at Christmas this year which we're really looking forward to as our first Christmas away from home would have been tough. We have a big enough house for everyone but we were thinking of trying to surprise our families with a beach house for 5 days or so over Christmas. I've looked on a few generic websites for holiday rentals but not really sure which area - maybe thinking somewhere south or even as far down as victor harbour, we can see the northern places from here so something a bit differ would be good - suggestions would be great! We're looking for a nice big house that could sleep 7 (3 couples plus my brother) and that would be dog friendly for a ery well behaved dog. Ideally we'd like a pool and somewhere close to the beach. We're not having any other holidays this year and knew we don't mind spending a little more to find somewhere perfect. We want to spoil our families for coming all the way out here to see us. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even just ideas of areas, websites etc Thankyou all in advance Emma
  11. The main thing I've struggled with so far is certain brands of makeup and makeup in general is really expensive here in Adelaide - face wipes and facial cleansers too - would definitely recommend stocking up on these before coming over.
  12. Hubby and I have had our 457 visas granted, flights are booked, flights and quarantine for the doggy booked and all happening incredible quickly...! Very excited! Moving over on 4th March E
  13. Very small world...that is him! Hi! Looking fwd to meeting you too! Not so long now! Emma
  14. My hubby and I are moving oer March 2013. He has a job, I'll look when we get there. Just trying to look through all the shipping quotes and what's included or not in all of them. Bringing the car too I think which is adding to the complications. We've a 2 bedroom flat but we're planning to keep it and rent it out furnished and just bring a small amount of our things with us, makes it harder for getting quotes for moving though cos we're not 100% sure what we're wanting to bring yet. Have thought about the move cube too, it's such a strange concept to try and imagine all our things in terms of cubic feet... Bringing our dog too but he'll come over a little after us, his rabies bloods mean he can't enter too April 2013. We'll be living up in/around the Barossa as that's where hubby's job is. Em
  15. Hi Jane, thankyou for your reply. Both myself and my husband are Glasgow graduates too, I've been qualified 3 and a half years and mike a little longer. He has a job over there that's bringing us across. We'll be arriving at the start of March. I'd love to come meet you when we arrive, I'll definitely give you a call when we get over. I'm working as a locum in Glasgow at the moment. How does personal insurance work in AUS? I have personal VDS cover over here, is there something similar for locus over there too? I'm sure we'll get to know all the vets pretty quickly when we arrive, if it's anything like the vet community over here where everyone knows everyone else! If there's any advice you have before we move I'd really appreciate it. And rharvey, thanks also for your reply, hope you're enjoying it. If you have any tips in advance of the move from your recent experience I'd love to hear it. Thanks again Emma
