Car Insurance help?

It's all a bit more sensible here. Basic third party person insurance is included in your rego (road tax). You then choose to pay additional amounts to buy up to comprehensive insurance.

Prices for my car were similar to the UK, ($55 per month fully comp for a 2400cc 6 cylinder). Bring evidence of no-claims bonus with you, although my broker took me at my word without seeing it.

Bigger engines don't seem to be badly penalised. Bear in mind that the locally produced cars are largely 6 and 8 cylinders, from 3.5 to 6 litre engines. My sixteen year old niece is driving a 3.5ltr V6 Mitsubishi - she wouldn't be doing that in the UK!
