We are here in adelaide and we have our belongings following us. Can anybody tell me how much they had to pay this end and who and how do you pay when your things arrive, as already payed the shipping company the other end?

we payed at other end and did not pay anything here was a long time ago 1997

You dont pay the shipping company anymore money's but you will have to pay customs for clearing your goods, which isnt a lot, think ours was around $150, think you get billed on size.

They should contact you when your container arrives.

Yeah we thought we'd paid for everything back in the UK. We didn't know about any customs clearance fee until the shipping company in Adelaide asked us for it. As stated above it was about $150 and we paid the Adelaide shipping company directly over the phone by credit card. Which in hind sight seems a bit odd, surely we should have paid customs directly? We were just glad we were getting our stuff after 3 months on a sofa bed (we shared a container).

 

If your container needs decontaminating for any reason you'll also be charged unless you took out insurance against it. Sorry I don't know how much that is though.
