We are looking at booking our one way flights for Jan 2011. I am a bit confused about the double baggage allowance. The Qantas website states that you can only have double baggage allowance for 175 visa ( + various other Visas). We are on a 176. Has anyone flown recently on a 176 and been allowed the double baggage?( Dont want to turn up at the airport to find were gonna be charged a fortune). Also is the 'migrant fare' that everyone talks about just a 'one way trip' that you can search on their website, or do you actually have to ring them to get a special discout??
We want to do a 2 day stop over in Singapore, so the double baggae allowance from Singapore Airlines is invalid (so i believe) if you stay for more than afew hours??? Besides they are £700 more expensive than Qantas.
Qantas are the cheapest that we can find. All the discount search engines seem to be more expensive than booking direct with Qantas via their website.
I have tried to ring Qantas but was on hold for 35mins and never got to speak to anyone other than the automated service!! Very frustrating.
Hope i havent completely confused the issue. Any info would be gratefully recieved.
