Do I need to do a driving text again?

I take it your question should say driving test not driving text?

Then this is the answer,

No you just take you licence into Service SA and they will give you a new SA driving licence.

Can not remember if you have to pay something...probably...

Remember to have both bits of your UK one when you go.

There is a yearly fee for a license.....cant quite remember of the top of my head think its around 40buck a year....but if u buy for more than 1 year the price drops.....the maximum is a 10 year one!

It has changed from 1 January.... you have to sit a test comprising off 120 questions....of which you can only get 5 wrong, then you have to repair some basic faults on a car then if you pass all that you have to drive through the city for 3 hrs...and be assessed...!!

 

Nah only kidding...

 

Just a quick swap over form one to the other which has to be dome within 3 months if you are PR....

Got mine last week, just take your UK license, passport, and proof of australian address to Transport SA on North Terrace (opposite the convention centre).

 

costs $28 per year (can choose how many years - max of 10), plus an admin fee.

Got mine last month, the 10 year option was about $295 (eeep!). In addition to the office on North Terrace, you can use the Customer Service Centres and if you're out of town a bit, that can be useful! I went to the Modbury one near Tea Tree Plaza and they were really helpful.
