Hi everyone,

I know this might be done to death but i cant find anythink about this so called, new law passed about electric powered items

My shipping company said i need to apply for a cert of conformerty or something from cambrera about my boys 12v250w powered scooter from toys r us and his vespa looking ride on version

These are both made by Razor and are 12v battery 250w motors and only do max 5mph !

Is this right ? also is this cert free? and who do i need to contact because they seem to be serious? Please help?

I build and convert bicycles and e'bikes part time and have looked into this. The scooter is 250watt for UK spec, higher than the Oz build. You can always remove the motor for shipping ( contact me for details ) then its just a scooter, no cert needed. Its up to you what you do with motor refit or replace.

It might sound a daft question but can John Mason not tell you where you get the permit/cert you need?

This is the department you need to contact....http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis

I hope you get this sorted.

Like Deus said can you not just send them over as parts, Like scooter and an engine?

Sounds like the easiest way to do this.
