Hi there everyone,

Ive put this in the search and hasnt come up with a previous post/thread but why is there a need for shipping insurance when you have to pay to ship so why do you have to pay for them not to break your stuff too ????

Its a simple question and not much logic tbh because you pay for a door to door service

Also how much is the average quote so i can budget because shipping companies are very vague?

Ive a 20ft container of stuff

It's not just them breaking stuff when they pack, but the ship may sink, it may loose one of the containers, there may be a fire in the warehouse etc etc, there are loads of things that could happen. Up to you if you decide the risk is enough to warrant getting insurance. If you go with someone like letton percival, the cover is generally better than the cover the packers are offering and cheaper. We are getting it for peace of mind as would hate to spend the 4k shipping, then loose everything, only to have to fork out and pay to replace everything too. Few hundred quid will be money well spent if the worst happens.
