Adelaide to Cairns

Has anyone done this internal flight ? If so, who did you fly with and what sort of price did you pay per adult ?

Can you do it cheaper by train ?

It's not the cheapest flight. Forgot exactly but around $300.

ok cheers, yeah ignore the train comment ha ha , obviously I still can't get to grips with just how vast Australia is !

As a science fiction fan, like me perhaps you are a science fact fan - I ask about the flights because of the total solar eclipse in November - can't miss that !

We just went to cairns and price was roughly $260 return with Jet Star, this didn't include check in luggage or pre-booking seats.

 

Bad news... Jet stars direct return flight was at 6:25am.

We did it around 5 wks ago and paid $189 per adult but the return was $229 per adult and as AussieRob stated it's at 6.25 am, takes just over 3 hrs. We just took hand luggage each and paid an extra $20 for one 20 kilo suitcase.

Would love to drive to cairns ,it's the getting there as well for us(well me and oh) not the kids,the vast open roads with nothing around love it

We just priced it today, Adelaide brisbane cairns and return 21st july $520 each with virgin we could fly direct with Jetstar but the flight times aren't very good.

Yeah Jetstar only do the one flight per day from Adelaide - going up is ok, but coming back is a killer.

 

For those considering driving, bear in mind that Brisbane to Cairns is the same distance as Adelaide to Brisbane...

 

Then again, you can do it the way I did recently...
