Cheapest way to move household contents from adelaide to brisbane?

Hi All

 

Has anyone any experience moving from Adelaide to Brisbane and what was the cheapest method of moving household contents.

 

We currently have a 2 bedroomed unit and prices quoted for removals $3,500 to $4,000 - has anyone done it cheaper or have any ingenious alternatives.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You could try someone like www.upack.com.au where they drop a container off, you do your own packing then they come and pick the container up etc. We considered it when we moved interstate from Victoria to Queensland, but in the end we opted for Crown.

You can usually save by taking out your own transit insurance as opposed to choosing the removal companies own insurance.
